About the Genome Innovation Hub

The Genome Innovation Hub has been a University of Queensland initiative (running 2018-2023) to support the development and implementation of new leading-edge genomics technologies and methods at UQ, and enable access for all UQ researchers. In this time we have completed more than 50 projects in collaboration with UQ staff and students across the areas of health, agriculture and the environment. These projects covered a broad range of genomics disciplines, incorporating wet-lab and computational advances in genome engineering, long-read sequencing, short-read sequencing, single cell and spatial technologies, and epigenomics.

We are thankful to all our collaborators for inviting us to be a part of their impactful and innovative research. We have thoroughly enjoyed the challenge, are proud of what we have accomplished together, and wish our collaborators all the best with the continuation of their projects.

In the hope that our efforts continue to provide benefit to the UQ genomics community, some of the protocols resulting from our collaborative projects are available on this site for you to download and use; click on the link below to navigate to the list of available documents. We are no longer operational and therefore can no longer provide technical support, however if you have a general question in relation to the Genome Innovation Hub you can contact our former Director A/Prof Allan McRae: a.mcrae@imb.uq.edu.au
