Researcher biography
Subash completed a BSc in Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering in Bangladesh in 2007. He returned to Nepal and worked as a research technician for 2 years to establish a plant tissue culture lab. With a NFP scholarship, he completed his MSc in Biotechnology from Wageningen University, the Netherlands. After completing his MSc, he moved to Germany and joined a biotechnology company Riboxx GmbH as an Early Stage Researcher under the Marie Curie initial training network and obtained his industrial doctorate (dr.rer.medic) in virology from Technische Universität Dresden in 2015. His work characterising viral proteins and RNA regulatory elements resulted in the identification of two potential antiviral drug-targets for pre-clinical antiviral drug development studies. Before joining GIH in 2018, he worked with Prof. Richard Lewis at IMB where his work emphasised cone snails venom genomics and transcriptomics. Since then, he has worked on multiple projects focusing on various aspects of the long read technologies – sample preparation methods development, sequencing instrumentation, data analysis and training to tune optimal and innovative use of the long read technologies.
